It is the responsibility of the individual student to use BI's letter of admission to obtain the correct visa to enter Norway. The application for an entry visa and residence permit must be filed with the Norwegian Embassy or Consulate in the student’s home country or the country of legal residence for the last six months.
Students who need a visa to enter Norway are required to deposit NOK 8.290 per month in BI`s bank account prior to the issuance of the visa (i.e. students staying for five months must deposit NOK 41.450).
Enclosed with the application you must provide the following documents:
- Letter of Admission from BI. This letter informs the authorities that BI is responsible for finding suitable accommodation for all foreign students.
- Copy of your passport (all pages)
- A bank receipt showing that the student has transferred the amount of NOK 8.290 per month to the BI bank account (to cover tuition, food, housing, books, etc., during the period of study)
Students are advised to file their application for a visa as soon as possible after receiving the Letter of Admission from BI Norwegian School of Management. When the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) has reviewed the application, the Foreign Service Mission will inform the student of the result. A fee of NOK 1 100,- will be charged in order to handle the application of residence permit.
