A visa is not required for EU/EEA citizens and nationals of countries with which Norway has signed a visa waiver agreement. Check link in right hand margin.
The application for a residence permit must be filed with the Norwegian Embassy or Consulate in the student’s home country or the country of legal residence for the last six months.
Enclosed with the application you must provide the following documents:
- Letter of Admission from BI
- A bank statement to show proof that they have sufficient funding to stay in Norway for one or two semesters.
- Copy of your passport (all pages)
A fee of NOK 1100 will be charged in order to handle the application of residence permit.
Please note that you may enter Norway before the residence permit have been granted.
Registration at the Foreign Police
Upon arrival you will have to register with the police.
