The Center for Boards and Governance is associated with various scholarly and business oriented networks.

The research network on “Behavioral Perspective on Boards and Governance. The network has evolved through a joint interest in exploring behavioral perspectives on boards and governance. Conferences like EURAM and EGOS have been important meeting places for the creation of the network. Members of the network have for example organized tracks on corporate governance at EURAM in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006, and at EGOS in 2003 and 2004. Various symposia on boards and governance have been organized by people in the network at the Academy of Management conference.

International doctoral courses on governance in SMEs. Several doctoral candidates participated in the “international doctoral courses on governance in SMEs” in 2000 or 2002 also found the network on behavioral perspectives on boards and governance to be an academic home. A doctoral course on interactions inside and outside the boardroom was organized in 2005. The tentative program and curriculum can be found here.

Workshops. The research program "The value creating board” at the Norwegian School of Management has made it possible to organize various seminars and workshops in Oslo, including the Norefjell workshops in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. For further information, follow this link.

European Group on Corporate Governance is a collaboration on corporate governance between various European universities. The group is affiliated with the European Academy of Management. For further information, follow this link.

Business networks

StyreAkademiet (National Association of Corporate Directors). The Center is involved in StyreAkademiet Norway through organizing the annual StyreDagen (The Board Conference), editorship of their newsletter and membership of the advisory board.

Forum on value creating board work is a forum in the intersection between research and consulting with the objective to develop value creating boards. Contact persons are Bjørn Kolltveit and Svein Olaf Engeseth. The forum organizes breakfast meetings with persons from the Norwegian industry.

Styrelederskolen (The board chairperson school). The center is also involved in other activities aiming at developing board effectiveness and value creating boards. One such activity is Styrelederskolen organized at Refsnes Gods by Arild Inge Sørland. For further information, follow this link.
