Who can get housing assistance?
- All 1st year international Bachelor- and Master students
- Exchange students
- Double degree students
Other applicants and 2nd year students have to apply directly to the different dormitories.
Housing assistance
If you belong to one of these categories, you may apply for housing through BI. Applications must be submitted within the given deadlines. You will receive further information about housing when you receive your student contract from BI.
To be able to obtain a residence permit in Norway, you need a place to live. If you have relatives or friends you can stay with, you should give this adress to the Embassy when you apply. If you do not have anywhere to live in Norway, please read the information you receive along with your BI student contract.
SIO
SiO is a student union in Oslo that offers student housing. All units provide private rooms with shared bathroom and kitchen. Prices vary between around NOK 1.800 and NOK 4.500. The housing quality will vary according to price. Students apply directly through www.sio.no.
BSN
BSN provides housing only for students connected with BI. The units provide private rooms with shared bathroom and kitchen. Pricec vary from NOK 3.750 to NOK 7.200 (family appartment). The housing quality varies according to price. Students cannot apply directly to BSN, but should instead contact their student administration. Please note that the rental period for the autumn semester is from 1.8.2009 - 31.12.2009 and for the spring semester 1.1.2010 - 31.07.2010
Contract period
Please note that the contract period may vary. Normally the rental period will be from August 1st until December 31st, and from January 1st until July 31st.
