Niels I. Meyer is Professor Emeritus at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). He has during his whole career engaged strongly in shaping a sustainable, decentralized alternative to the prevailing societal development. He will present the results from a large Danish project about the elimination of all fossil fuels in the Danish energy system by 2050.

As a leading scientist and a member of several Danish energy councils, Professor Meyer has great insight in the subject, and as an experienced educator and public debater he has the ability to communicate this insight to a broader audience.

Professor Meyer’s lecture will be commented by Professor Jørgen Randers (BI), who among other positions has been head of the Norwegian Commission on Low Greenhouse Gas Emissions, and Professor Atle Midttun (BI), who currently heads a large international project on the transition to a greener economy.
