International Management

This programme focuses on two main topics within international management. The first one is the international cultural and institutional context in which firms operate. Participants will receive an overview of the concepts of culture and institution.

This programme will give you knowledge and tools to manage an international organization. Through the programme you will gain skills you need to work in another cultural context. The programme uses an interdisciplinary approach with perspectives from international business, strategic management, human resource management, as well as cultural studies. In the programme participants will meet and discuss practical challenges with international companies operating abroad.

After the programme the students should be better prepared for managing as well as taking on international assignments. They should be able to apply core concepts from theory on practical situations. Participants should also be able to reflect on the meaning of different national contexts and understand its impact on their own behavior. In addition we expect participants to be able to develop international strategies, manage crosscultural teams, and communicate and negotiate better across cultures. The programme actively stimulates network building by sharing experiences with other students. This programme is run in close cooperation with Fudan School of Management in Shanghai and other business schools. It includes one module in Shanghai and one in another country to be decided. All teaching will be held in English.
