Hi, my name is Pernille Granheim and I am a 24-year-old girl from Nittedal. I am a student at BI’s MSc programme in Leadership and Organizational Psychology which I will finish in the summer of 2012.
I also work in an interior-design store. This job is not directly relevant to my studies, however, it suites me very well. Since I spend most of my time at school, it is nice to have a job where I can do something completely different.
Directly after high school I started at Oslo School of Management and finished with a Bachelor’s in Marketing and Sales Management. I wanted to continue studying but was not sure what kind of master I wanted to pursue. So I had a year where I worked and traveled. As I was traveling I experienced many different cultures and exotic places in the US, Canada, Asia and Australia. It is one of the best experiences I ever have had, so rich and enlightening. Not only did I learn a lot about the world but also about myself.
I do not have a specific dream job but I am thinking of a career within either management consulting or in human resources. Right now I want to seek different channels and keep all doors open, gaining as much knowledge as possible. It is important to access information and as a student there is a lot of aids available.
To mention some of the tools I definitely would employ are business presentations, networks and Careers Service center. These tools can be a good guidance as well as good training. I see this process as a journey starting right now giving me insight in the different steps I have to grasp as a student becoming an employee.
