BI Business School/Conference produces this 3 day in depth introduction to shipping in collaboration with SeaProf Executive Education. The classes featured Assoc Prof Cathrine Bjune from BI, Capt Robert Gordon from SeaProf and Asst Prof Dr Jasmine Lam from NTU together with well known maritime industry experts from major shipping industry organisations including PIL, Fearnleys, E-Ships and DnB Bank. The course is endorsed by the Singapore MPA by way of full support from the Maritime Cluster Fund and is sponsored by the Singapore Shipping Assoc and the Singapore Maritime Foundation. Participant feedback was – as before – very positive and we are now seeing repeat bookings from marine employers based on "satisfied student" referrals. In particular, participants enjoyed the opportunity to learn new skills and exchange ideas with other maritime industry executives in both class room case study sessions and in the networking sessions during the coffee and lunch breaks. The course ended with the presentation of BI Certificates of Achievement by Cathrine Bjune followed by a reception at the course venue bistro, The Sleeping Rhino. The hardest part of the course was to get everyone to go home!
