Cathrine Bjune, Associate Professor, BI Norwegian Business School and Lawyer, MNA. Prior to joining BI, Prof. Bjune worked with a well known maritime law firm in London, the Central Union of Maritime Underwriters and the Skuld P&I Club in Norway. She is a a frequent lecturer at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and has organised and chaired numerous maritime executive training programmes and seminars both in Norway and overseas. Prof. Bjune is also the author of a number of books and publications relating to maritime transport, law and insurance. |

Capt Robert Gordon, Solicitor & MD of Seasia P&I Services Capt Robert Gordon, LLB, LLM, Managing Director Seasia P&I Services Pte Ltd., spent 20 years at sea as a deck officer, shipmaster and pilot before coming ashore to study maritime law at the University of Southampton. He then qualified as a Solicitor and practised as a partner with admiralty lawyers Thomas Cooper in London. Capt Gordon moved to Singapore in 1995 and founded Seasia P&I Services, along with a franchised network of 20 offices throughout Asia, specialising in casualty defence and P&I correspondent work. He has presented numerous papers on marine insurance and maritime law at training seminars and conferences in Europe and Asia. Capt Gordon also acts as an arbitrator, mediator and court expert and has co- authored several books on maritime law and insurance together with Prof. Bjune. |

Martine Dysvik, Senior Associate, Wikborg Rein, Singapore Martine Cedergren Dysvik is a senior associate in Wikborg Rein’s Singapore Shipping and Offshore Group. Martine focuses on maritime law and contract law for a wide range of shipping and offshore clients. Her main area of practice covers the offshore sector, and includes assisting oil service operators with tender risk assessments, project structuring and review and drafting of related contracts. During the last 24 months Martine has spent a considerable amount of time seconded into offshore companies operating in Asia, and has valuable insights into the commercial drivers and legal issues facing operators. Her practice encompasses projects in the UK, NCS, US Gulf, Brazil, West Africa, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines and Indonesia. Martine is a Committee Member of the Norwegian Business Association in Singapore, and President of YoungShip (Singapore). |

Dr. Jasmine Lam, Asst Prof & Director of Maritime Studies, Nanyang Technological University Dr. Jasmine Lam, PhD, MSc, CILT, Director of the MSc Maritime Studies programme at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Prof. Lam has extensive experience in maritime executive training and has been invited by various organisations such as OECD, NOL and port authorities to appear as a speaker at international conferences and seminars. Working closely with the marine industry, government agencies and other reputed universities, Prof. Lam has completed numerous research and industrial projects. Her work has been published in major international journals and conference proceedings. She is the recipient of several awards, including the Best Paper Award at the International Association of Maritime Economists Annual Conference at Melbourne in 2006. |

Nicolas Duran, Head of Dept for S&P & Newbuildings, Fearnleys, Singapore Nicolas Duran, Head of Department for S&P/Newbuilding at Fearnleys Asia (Singapore). This department is in charge of sale and purchase brokering of second hand vessels as well as newbuilding contracting at shipyards. Nicolas has previously worked with the S&P/Newbuilding team at Fearnleys in Oslo and was a trainee with Lorentzen & Stemoco before that. He has covered transactions on most conventional vessel types in addition to LNG carriers, and has also worked with lease and financing projects.

Lewis Hart, Executive Director, Willis Singapore Lewis Hart started in with Lloyd Thompson Limited in 1988 on North American and Scandinavian Ship owner’s accounts. As an Associate Director of the Marine Hull Division he then worked as a retail broker in the Lloyds and London Company Markets. Lewis joined Willis Faber & Dumas in 1997 as Divisional Director with responsibility for developing marine accounts in Europe specifically in Germany and Turkey and specialising in Hull and associated risks, Marine / Offshore Construction and Ports and Terminal operations. Lewis was seconded to the Willis Singapore office in 2005 and became Asian Practice Leader in 2007. He is responsible for building and managing Willis’ marine team and the south east Asian book of business. This includes developing risk management programs and implementing insurance products throughout the Far Eastern Markets and International markets. Lewis has previously lectured for BI at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and also given lectures on numerous executive training programmes and seminars in Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia and the Philippines.

Djeni Rolana, former Chief Operating Officer (COO), E-Ships, Abu Dhabi Djeni has over 18 years of experience in commercial shipping in the dry bulk sector. She is a Singaporean and started her career with IMC Shipping Pte. Ltd. (Singapore). Since then, she has worked in Indonesia, Boston, London, Dubai, Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi for various shipping majors. These include Canada Steamship Lines, Wide Ocean Group and Emirates Ship Investment Company LLC. Djeni holds a Master’s Degree in International Shipping from the University of Plymouth (UK). She has lectured on chartering on shipping courses conducted by the BI Norwegian Business School in Indonesia, Egypt, Singapore and Vietnam. Her specific areas of interest are maritime economics and commercial ship management. Until recently, Djeni was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Emirates Ship Investment Company LLC in Abu Dhabi. She is now working in market research and consultancy with a focus on engaging in academic pursuits and industry training. She is currently living in Dubai.

Capt. Pradeep Desawar, General Manager, PIL Singapore Capt. Pradeep Desawar, MSc (Maritime Studies), Master Mariner (COC Class 1 deck officer), General Manager, Pacific International Lines (Pte) Ltd; Singapore. Capt Pradeep Desawar has been associated with the shipping industry for over 35 years. He gained invaluable working experience for 20 years, while posted on board General Cargo ships, Bulk Carriers and Container ships in various capacities starting from deck cadet till the rank of ship’s master. For past 15 years, he has been working ashore within the shipping industry and has gained invaluable working experience in the field of Marine & Cargo surveys, Container Cargo Operations and Ship Management. Presently, Capt Pradeep is responsible for the Ship Management for a fleet of over 90 container vessels and is responsible for the Crew Management, Ship Safety and Ship Security measures for the entire fleet. |

Mike Pollen, Solicitor and Partner, K & L Gates LLP, Singapore Mike Pollen is a solicitor, admitted in both England and Hong Kong, and is a partner in the Singapore offices of K&L Gates. Mr Pollen has over 35 years of experience of advising on maritime law with a particular focus on shipbuilding, offshore oil and gas, ship repair and conversion and sale and purchase. He has advised many leading shipyards, shipowners/operators, energy companies and insurers and re-insurers and is regularly asked by the media to comment on topical market issues. Mr Pollen has also provided numerous client seminars on legal problems relating to their shipping and ship building businesses, including practical workshops on contract drafting and dispute resolution. |

Robin Chan, Senior Relationship Manager in the Shipping, Offshore and Logistics group of DNB Bank in Singapore Robin Chan is a Robin started with DNB Bank as an Analyst in 2004 and presently manages a team that covers clients consisting of shipping corporates in Northeast-Asia (Japan and Korea) and Southeast-Asia. Robin's main activity revolves around advising on and arranging the appropriate form of financing for shipping clients in his portfolio. Prior to joining DNB Bank, Robin worked as Industry Analyst at the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi for 3 years, where he undertook credit research and analysis of a portfolio of industries, e.g. electronics, banking, property and transportation, in the Asia Ex Japan Region. |
