The President of BI Norwegian Business School, Karen Spens, invites Teaching Professor Mark Brown to deliver his inauguration lecture on the topic "Spaces for Learning".

An inaugural lecture is a formal lecture given by a newly appointed professor to mark their official start in the role. It is an opportunity to present their research and academic journey to colleagues, students, and the public.
About the Teaching Professor Mark Brown
Mark Brown was educated at Imperial College, London and has a degree in Chemical Engineering and Business. He worked in key account sales in the IT industry for eight years, primarily with IBM UK, before marrying and moving to Norway age 31. He changed to a career in teaching and re-educated himself at the University of Oslo (Cand Philol, 1997 and PhD, 2008). He has been permanently employed at BI since 2004, conducting some research following on from his PhD, but increasingly focusing on teaching, teaching development and, latterly, also teaching leadership administration. He is married, has two adult children, one grandchild, a large and supportive family of Norwegian in-laws, and a small number of close friends.
