Contract and Purchase Law

Introduction

Contract Law and Sales Law is a program course for the Bachelor of Law and Business, and it is adapted to the learning objectives set for this study. The course is divided into two main topics:

  1. Contract Law
  2. Sales Law

Course content

Contract Law

  • Legal sources of contract law.
  • Principles of contract law.
  • The relationship between general and specific contract law.
  • Various forms of contract formation.
  • The doctrine of agency.
  • Invalidity and modification of contracts, including invalidity due to the form of the contract, the competency of the offeror, the formation of the contract, the contract's content, and failed assumptions.
  • Interpretation and supplementation of contracts, including the most important interpretative principles.

Sales Law

  • Overview of the areas of application of the Sales Act and the Consumer Sales Act, as well as the main features of the Craftsman Services Act, the Sale of Goods Act, the Residential Construction Act, and the Right of Withdrawal Act.
  • Overview of central differences between the Sales Act and the Consumer Sales Act.
  • The seller's obligation to deliver the goods on time and at the right place according to the Sales Act and the Consumer Sales Act.
  • The buyer’s rights in the event of a breach of contract by the seller, including breaches under the Sales Act and the Consumer Sales Act.
  • The seller's obligation to deliver the correct goods under the Sales Act and Consumer Sales Act.
  • The buyer’s rights in the event of a defect in the goods according to the Sales Act and the Consumer Sales Act.
  • The buyer’s obligations concerning the settlement of the sales agreement under the Sales Act and the Consumer Sales Act.
  • The seller's rights as a result of a breach of contract by the buyer.
  • An overview of the most important rules in the Craftsman Services Act.
  • An overview of the main points in the Right of Withdrawal Act.
  • The most important rules regarding choice of law in international sales relationships.
