Introduction
The “Operational Planning and Logistics Analytics” course equips students in with advanced knowledge and hands-on skills for analyzing, planning, and optimizing operations and logistics processes across supply chains at the strategic, tactical, and operational levels. Students develop a strong foundation in optimization-based decision making to support cost-efficient resource allocation, improved service performance, and effective capacity utilization. The course also addresses the practical challenges of managing uncertainty and constraints in modern supply chains, with an emphasis on building resilient and sustainable operations. Through decision-making models, predictive analytics, and optimization techniques, students learn how to tackle real-world business problems and translate analytical insights into actionable supply chain plans.

- Introduction to operations planning, logistics analytics, and principles of optimization.
- Demand forecasting techniques and predictive analysis in supply chains.
- Aggregate production planning models.
- Inventory management for cycle stock and safety stock; service levels, discounts, and related trade-offs.
- Pricing, revenue management, and overbooking strategies.
- Supply chain network design models, including facility location and capacity planning.
- Multiperiod planning and handling uncertainty and variability (e.g., risk pooling concepts).
- Sensitivity analysis and simulation methods to evaluate decisions under uncertainty and operational variability.
