Organisational Behavior, Team and Leadership

Introduction

In an era where businesses are characterized by digitalization and complex forms of collaboration, the ability to lead and participate effectively in teams is crucial for success. The course therefore provides an academic and practical foundation that is relevant for a professional career in modern working life where collaboration, ethical leadership and continuous improvement are key competitive advantages. This course is a structured and engaging introduction to organizational behavior and leadership, with particular emphasis on team processes and leadership development. Students learn both to understand and to practically apply theories through case work, structured team exercises and simulations.

The goal is to develop students' ability to analyze and improve teamwork, apply key concepts in organizational psychology and leadership to develop leadership skills and improve team performance, as well as to reflect on their own role and responsibility in team and leadership contexts. Students work in fixed teams throughout the semester.

  • Personality, values ​​and attitudes
  • Decision-making and cognitive processes

Part II: Team processes and collaboration

  • Teams as a working method: design and composition
  • Roles, norms and psychological safety
  • Communication, coordination and trust
  • Conflict and disagreement in teams
  • Team learning, reflection and retrospectives

Part III: Leadership in teams and organizations

  • What is leadership? Perspectives and roles
  • Situational and relationship-oriented leadership
  • Transformational leadership and influence
  • Ethics, responsibility and destructive leadership

Part IV: Organization and integration

  • Organization as a framework for collaboration
  • Integration, cases and exam preparation
