Introduction

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly changing corporations and business functions. AI and Algorithms are used both as support for a variety of tasks, as well as an active assistant and co-worker, they are crucial tools for decision making. In this course, we will explore the foundational issues that comprises current developments in artificial intelligence, and conceptualize future scenarios for business and society, and deliberate on the possible economic and ethical outcomes of these.

The course provides insights into working with AI through theorizing as well as guest lectures from different business professionals who shed light on their work with AI. They will highlight opportunities and challenges of relying on AI in the various business contexts, and critically review the use and misuse of AI.

Students will collaborate in cross-disciplinary teams to write an assignment.

Course content

  • AI in Business and Society (2 sessions)
  • AI/Data/Analytics (3-4 sessions developed by Auke and selected co-course coordinators?)
  • Guest lectures with representatives from different business functions (strategy, comms, analytics, finance 5-6 sessions, guest lectures delivered by all involved departments)
