Business History Research – call for applications for funding
The Business History Research Foundation (Bedriftshistorisk forskningsstiftelse) aims to support historical research at BI Norwegian Business School, with a particular focus on modern and contemporary Norwegian business history.
The Foundation shall:
- Provide seed money to initiate academically relevant research projects, including the purchase of literature, data collection, and the development of pilot projects.
- Support the organization of seminars or other professional initiatives related to business history and economic history.
- Contribute to the development of a professional environment for business history at BI, specifically through support for academic travel, guest lectures, and seminars/conferences.
- Support work aimed at publishing results from completed research projects.
- Support academically relevant projects that involve collaboration with other archival and research institutions.
Application details:
- Eligibility: All academic staff at BI are eligible to apply. Collaborative projects involving academic staff from other institutions may also be granted support.
- Requirements: Applications must align with the foundation's purpose. If the project has received support from other funding sources, this must be disclosed. Recipients must submit a short report to the board upon completion.
- Application content: The application should specify the research purpose and, if applicable, briefly outline research questions, sources, existing research, and relevant analytical perspectives. A CV and a brief description of the applicant's background should also be included.
- Funding amount: The total amount distributed annually is normally between 60,000 and 100,000 NOK.
