Michael Kisser appointed as new Head of Department of Accounting and Operations Management

Michael Kisser will officially assume the role 1 August 2026.

Michael joined BI in 2019, following several faculty positions at NHH. In addition to his role as Professor in Accounting, Michael serves as the Associate Dean for our Master’s in Accounting and Auditing, as well as the PhD specialisation in Accounting. Michael’s deep understanding of our academic programmes, combined with his international research background, makes him an ideal colleague to drive the department forward.

We would also like to thank Professor John Christian Langli for his outstanding service as Head of Department. During his tenure, John Christian has been a dedicated advocate for his department. He has also taken responsibility in discussions on core strategic issues for BI as a whole. It has been a great pleasure working with him, and we are grateful for the solid foundation he has built.

To ensure a smooth transition, Michael and John Christian will work closely together over the coming months.
