Bachelor of Data Science for Business

  • How would you describe the academic level of the Bachelor of Data Science for Business, and how would you describe the teaching style?

The programme maintains a high academic standard with a solid theoretical foundation in mathematics, statistics, and economics. The teaching style combines theoretical depth in lectures with practical application through relevant exercises and solving real, business-related cases. During my studies, I learned and had excellent opportunities to further develop competence in the Python programming language, which has proven very useful in my work as a Data Scientist.

  • How have the competencies and skills you acquired through your studies helped prepare you for the role of Data Scientist?

The studies gave me a unique foundation by combining technical programming expertise with business understanding. This combination is important in order to translate complex business needs into solutions that create value. The ability to bridge technology and economics is a valuable trait in my role. The programme has given me a broad and more general understanding of economics, strategy, and theory relevant to the work and the company.

  • What did you enjoy most about studying at BI/Bachelor of Data Science for Business?

What I enjoyed most about the programme was group work, lectures with active students, and the availability of both myself and the lecturer. We could simply drop by our lecturer’s office if we had any questions, even outside of scheduled teaching time.
