Federica De Molli, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of Organizational Behaviour at BI Norwegian Business School in Oslo, specializing in creativity and innovation management. Her research focuses on creative and innovation processes and organizational behaviour, with particular attention to how these processes are shaped by people, relationships, organizational cultures, and the physical and social environments in which they unfold.
This perspective allows her to connect rigorous organizational research with questions that are increasingly relevant for companies and leaders: How can organizations create cultures where new ideas emerge and develop? How do people experience change? How do we design environments that stimulate creativity and collaboration? And how can leaders better understand the subtle ways in which spaces, emotions, relationships, and organizational practices influence behaviour?
Federica’s research has been published in leading international academic journals, including Organization Studies, Culture and Organization, and European Management Review. She has contributed to several edited volumes and co-edited The Metamorphosis of Cultural and Creative Organizations: Exploring Change from a Spatial Perspective (Routledge, 2021).
Alongside her academic work, Federica is an experienced speaker and moderator at academic, professional, and public events. She regularly engages with companies, institutions, and cultural organizations through talks, workshops, panels, and consulting, bringing her expertise in creativity, innovation, organizational behaviour, and culture beyond academia.
Her international affiliations include the European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS), the Academy of Management’s EMONET network, the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) SciArt, COST European Forum for Advanced Practices (EFAP), the Scientific Committee of the Research Centre for Innovation and Life Sciences Management (CrESIT), the BI Centre for Creative Industries and the Association of Italian Organization Studies Academics (ASSIOA).
Federica is also involved in activities related to board work and academic governance, supported by dedicated training in governance and board-related roles. Before entering academia, she worked in project management for companies and cultural organizations, coordinating international projects across France, Luxembourg, Italy, and Hong Kong.
Federica is also the creator and host of Creativity Matters!, a podcast featuring conversations with leading professionals and experts from major international organizations, as well as prominent scholars, thinkers, and philosophers. Through these conversations, the podcast explores creativity and innovation across different industries, disciplines, and perspectives, connecting professional experience with academic and intellectual perspectives.
