About Professor Fred Espen Benth

Fred Espen Benth

Fred Espen Benth is professor of Data Science at the Department of Data Science and Analytics, and associate dean for the newly established PhD specialisation Data and Decision Science. Benth's research is focussed on risk modelling and analysis in energy, commodity and financial markets, as well as machine learning and stochastics. He has published more than 150 articles in leading academic journals, and has co-authored 5 research monographs published.  He serves in the editorial boards of IMA Journal of Management Mathematics, International Journal of Theoretical and Applied Finance, Journal of Commodity Markets and Mathematical Methods of Operations Research. He is an elected member of the Norwegian Academy of Sciences and Letters, and appointed member in the National Committee for Research Ethics in Science and Technology.
