Britannia, Trondheim Stage and BI enter into strategic partnership

12 March 2026

The three-way partnership aims to bring academic knowledge beyond traditional classrooms and into new cultural venues across Central Norway.

At the heart of the collaboration is the ambition to create a new platform for reflection and insight by combining academic expertise with professional concept development and an iconic hospitality experience. Through this initiative, the partners aim to make research-based knowledge accessible and engaging to a wider audience.

Morten Solheim, Business Development Manager at BI Norwegian Business School, highlights the value of combining academic knowledge with experiences:

– “We want to demonstrate that learning has the greatest impact when it is connected to experiences that engage all the senses. By combining BI’s academic expertise with the atmosphere of Britannia Hotel and Trondheim Stage’s event management experience, we create a space for the important conversations our society needs today,” says Solheim.

Morten Solheim, Business Development Manager at BI; Mård Askim, Chairman of the Board at Trondheim Stage; and Arild Sjødin, General Manager of Britannia Hotel, look forward to a successful partnership.

Philosophical Evenings in Palmehaven

As a first example of what this collaboration will look like, the partners are launching the concept Philosophical Evenings in Palmehaven. BI’s Steinar Bjartveit, one of Norway’s leading communicators on leadership and philosophy, will take audiences on a journey to Renaissance Florence at Britannia Hotel’s historic restaurant.

– “For BI, this is more than a one-off event; it is a strategic opportunity to make knowledge accessible in new settings. By bringing academia beyond traditional boundaries, we reach audiences seeking depth and reflection in their busy everyday lives. This is modern knowledge dissemination in practice,” explains Solheim.
