Business
Choose 1 of 7 majors to tailor your degree. Gain broad and sought-after competency that can lead to a wide range of different positions.
This two-year master's in business gives you a broad, versatile foundation with strong analytical and strategic skills. You’ll learn to turn data, theory, and experience into practical insight that helps organisations adapt and create value in a fast-changing world—recognising how sustainability, profitability, and innovation are connected.
You will build general management competence and specialise through a major aligned with your interests and ambitions. Along the way, you strengthen skills employers value: analysis, problem solving, cross-functional teamwork, and clear communication.
You may also qualify to use the Norwegian professional title Siviløkonom, a well-established and recognised credential in business and industry.
Programme structure and shared foundation
The MSc in Business is built on a strong shared academic foundation across all the majors. All students complete four common, mandatory courses to establish a solid analytical and strategic foundation.
These courses are:
- Mathematics and Quantitative Methods
- Business Economics
- Data Analysis
- Business Case
In addition to these four courses, you choose your major. A major consists of five mandatory courses and one elective. In the third semester, you can also choose elective courses, an internship or an exchange.
"This MSc combines analytical rigour, strategic understanding, technological insight and financial competence, essential for the Norwegian business sector. The academic level ensure graduates are of high calibre and highly attractive, capable of management and project roles early in their careers."
Majors
Tailor your degree by choosing a major that forms the core of your programme. Each major combines advanced coursework with real cases and projects. The Finance major is also offered at our campus in Bergen.
