BI celebrates its own: Meet this year’s award winners

12 October 2026

Felix Smith Halle receives the Young Alumni Award, Stian Rustad receives the Founder Award, and Kristin Ruud receives the Distinguished Alumni Award.

The awards were presented at BI Alumni Day earlier this month. They recognise BI alumni who have made outstanding contributions through entrepreneurship, leadership, and their commitment to BI and society.

“Our alumni are among the best ambassadors we could ask for. They show how the knowledge and experience gained through their studies can be used to create value and make a positive contribution to society. This year’s award winners are excellent examples of this,” says Egil Matsen, President of BI Norwegian Business School.

Meet the award winners

Felix Smith Halle, Young Alumni Award

Felix Smith Halle receives the award for his strong commitment to BI and its students. Alongside his career as a management consultant at Accenture, he has returned to BI on several occasions as an alumni speaker, course instructor, and panellist at career events.

He has helped students prepare for case interviews and played a key role in securing Accenture as a case partner for BI Case Competition at short notice. By sharing his experience and creating opportunities for others, Felix is an excellent example of how young alumni can give back to the BI community.

Stian Rustad, Founder Award

Stian Rustad receives the award for turning a business idea into an international, publicly listed company with billions in revenue and hundreds of jobs. When he founded 24SevenOffice in 1997, he recognised the potential of the internet and technologies that would go on to transform the business world.

Rustad has demonstrated remarkable perseverance through challenging market conditions and led the company’s international expansion. He also generously shares his experience and supports entrepreneurs, growth companies, and the next generation of technology leaders.

Kristin Ruud, Distinguished Alumni Award

Kristin Ruud receives the award in recognition of her leadership and significant contributions to business and the BI community. She has established herself as one of Norway’s leading figures in organisational development, HR, and strategic transformation.

Through senior leadership roles at companies including Telenor, Atea, and Kongsberg Digital, she has led major transformation processes and helped build organisations equipped for the future of work.

As Chair of BI’s Alumni Advisory Board, she has also played an important role in strengthening the school’s alumni network. Ruud is passionate about connecting technology, business strategy, and people, while helping students gain valuable insights into working life. Through initiatives such as Telenor’s Blue Zone, she helps open doors for young people and gives them opportunities to gain practical experience.
