This master programme is taught in Norwegian. More detailed information about the programme can be found on our Norwegian pages.

What will you learn?

In this programme, you will study advanced law and business and how legal and economic factors shape the regulation of business. This insight will enable you to make informed, responsible and sustainable decisions, grounded in a solid understanding of the legal framework that governs corporate behaviour. Along the way, you will develop legal competence beyond what is typical among economists, while acquiring a stronger grasp of economics than is usual among lawyers.

You will learn to:

  • understand how legal frameworks and economic analysis together influence corporate decisions, governance and valuation
  • read and assess reporting and financial statements, as well as matters of taxation and duties
  • analyse issues in company law, transactions (e.g. acquisitions and equity capital) and commercial contracts
  • identify risks such as exchange rates, inflation and sanctions, and propose measures that ensure legal compliance and strong internal control

Career opportunities

The unique combination offered by this programme will make you attractive to a wide range of organisations, from small firms to large corporate groups that need employees capable of handling both legal and financial issues. You will be particularly sought after for roles that require bridging legal and financial functions. Upon graduation, you will be well-placed for positions in auditing, compliance, advisory/consulting, and legal services, and you will have a clear competitive edge in cross-disciplinary environments.
