Abstract People with disabilities represent a large, underutilized labor force, and while disability employment is increasingly recognized as a strategic human resource opportunity, reports on its value are fragmented. Existing research often emphasizes benefits for firms or employees with disabilities, overlooking other stakeholders and potential accompanying costs. This systematic review synthesizes 45 empirical studies published between 2000 and 2025, examining both benefits and costs across multiple stakeholders, value dimensions, and organizational positions. Findings reveal that most reported values were gain-related and firm-centered. Meanwhile, patterns of intra-stakeholder clustering and inter-stakeholder linkages highlighted the complex dynamics of shared outcomes. Four benefit–cost dynamics were identified, alongside evidence of occupational segregation in low-value job roles. By applying a multi-stakeholder framework, this review advances the human resource management literature, showing how disability employment can be leveraged strategically to create interconnected values, foster inclusion, and support sustainable workforce practices.

Promoting public transport use among students is crucial for fostering sustainable urban mobility, yet public transport remains underutilized in many cities. This research investigates how message framing influences students' intentions to use public transport through the activation of consumption goals by emotional reactions. Furthermore, by focusing on Hanoi – a Global South megacity undergoing a public transport transformation - it enriches the current literature, which predominantly centers on developed countries. A survey of 611 students explored general school commuting behaviors, followed by a 2 × 2 factorial experiment with 245 participants to examine the independent and combined effects of gain/loss and individual/social frames on public transport usage intention. Results showed that gain frames were slightly better than loss frames, and social references outperformed individual remarks. The effects were congruent, making gain-framed, social-referencing messages the most effective in enhancing students' intention. Additionally, emotional reactions to these frames activated consumption goals, increasing students' behavioral intention. The activation was contextual, as social frames led to higher baseline levels of consumption goals yet less reliance on affective responses. These findings highlight the importance of public communication strategies that emphasize collective benefits and evoke emotional engagement to promote sustainable commuting choices.

The quest to create conversational agents (CAs), such as chatbots and digital assistants, that can engage in human-like conversations often overlooks marginalized populations, with “human” typically modeled on majority groups. This scoping review addresses the gap by examining the experiences of ethno-racially minoritized users with CAs and the factors shaping these experiences. Guided by Berni and Borgianni’s (2021) User eXperience (UX) framework, we conducted a scoping review (OSF preregistered), screening 1767 titles and abstracts to identify 93 eligible studies from peer-reviewed journals and top conference proceedings. By synthesizing interaction, cognitive, and emotional experiences, the review positions UX as a conceptual anchor for human-machine communication research, identifies factors unique to communicative technologies, and outlines mechanisms and boundary conditions to inform future inclusive design and research agenda.
